I'm dying at your tag of 'nonconsensual wildlife'.

Our cats, in the meantime, have melted into cat-puddles, communicating "I CAN HAZ AC?" with every fiber of their being.

DED !

and you wonder why I withhold my right to move to Hawaii...3-5 inch roaches on the side of the island the fam is from is normal. They come in and chill, you kill them and leave them as warnings for their kin.

Any time I see a bug in the house, I tell Kaylee, "C'mon, c'mon, earn your fucking keep!" And she usually does, bless her heart. Archie gets really squicked out by the crunching sounds but to me it just means she's doing her job.

No Raid! It's like warm water to roaches! Buy this: http://www.bengal.com/roach.htm

Review here: http://www.epinions.com/review/Bengal_Roach_Spray_42394132/content_167348113028

This is what we used in Louisiana and what I keep stocked in my cabinet along with the flea version to spray a perimeter between my apartment and my neighbor. She think that using Frontline on her four cats and one dog like i do with mine is "mean" and will "kill them." *Side eye* Like my ass won't kill her, right?

Warning: It will flush out the roaches from the walls, and you will watch them die. But after they are gone? No more roaches for six months. Then you respray.

You'll thank me.

Our little Joss is the same with bloody great Bluebottles. She'll screech around the room chattering for 30 seconds. Then all you can hear is the satisfied smacking of lips. hence we have no need to own fly spray!
