Lily = Simon's cat

So this has more or less been my morning thus far:

Ah cat ownership. It seems I wake up most mornings with thoughts of murder and taxidermy in my head as I stumble downstairs to feed Her Dicktastic Majesty after she spends at least an hour of running around our room making a hot and cold running ASS of herself. Loudly. Cats do not get the concept of "I don't care if it's feed you time, let me sleep."

Today's plans - stay off the social internets (with the exception of google talk), craft the mother of all to-do lists, drink mad amounts of coffee while I still can, and make shit that needs to happen happen. You?

The main reason I keep my door closed at night is to avoid becoming a cat battlefield.

My plan for the day:
1. Brains
2. Braaaains
3. ???
4. Braaains

Boris has this thing where if he thinks I've been sleeping past his feeding time, he'll start finding things in the room to mess with that make noises that he knows bothers me. Usually it's finding something plastic to chew on, but sometimes it's knocking things off of my nightstand or something else equally annoying. He only does this early in the morning, generally on the weekends. On Saturday I got annoyed as soon as he started doing it, so kicked him (and also Natasha) out of the bedroom and closed the door.

I just moved my cats in and so I am dealing with a similar issue. I have been sleeping with ear plugs in since I live in a studio apartment now and have no doors to close them out of the room. But if you do, then the simple answer is: close your bedroom door and set your alarm for a specific feeding time each morning. Your cat will adjust quickly to the new schedule. Trust me.

LOL yeah I know I could just kick her out. Trouble is, I can ignore my alarm clock; not so much a hungry cat so I'll actually get up to deal with her.

4 a.m. every single flipping morning Josie pulls this crap. Shutting the door doesn't help she throws herself at it if we do. Moving food, drink, kitty litter inside and not in the mudroom doesn't do crap either because she just don't like to walk downstairs in the dark. In the event we don't get to shut the door she will slam it against the wall until we get up. If she wasn't ridiculously cute she would be dead already.
