... But I'm only doing 200 as I got them from [livejournal.com profile] nounsandverbs and he got them from a friends-only friend so I gue2s we're both doing this in 200 question chunks.

1. Who are you?
Two! Four! Six! Oh! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE!

Couldn't resist.

2. What are the 3 most important things everyone should know about you?
I have a maniacal lack of discretion, I'm funny, and I'm terrified of green bagels.

3. When you aren't filling out 5,000 question surveys like this one what are you doing?
Having a reasonable facsimile of a life.

4. List your classes in school from the ones you like the most to the ones you like the least (or if you are out of school, think of the classes you did like and didn't like at the time).
Dear gods, I don't remember half the ones I took. My favorites were artsy fartsy classes like music composition and theory and Shakespeare and film. My least favorites were every class I had to take for my major. Computer science is NOT fun beyond the 100 level.

5. What is your biggest goal for this year?
Get this bead project done/finish my novel/be in a much better place financewise. Reminds me, I gotta enter today's purchases into my spreadsheet. BRB.

Okay I'm back now.

6. Where do you want to be in 5 years?
I plan, the powers that be laugh. I honestly don't care, but I'd like to be somewhat more secure wherever I end up, and I hope the cats, kids, husband and friends are still more or less around, they're what count in my life.

7. What stage of life are you in right now?
Old enough to have regrets and to yell at the damn kids on my lawn, young enough to still turn this bus completely around if I have to.

8. Are you more child-like or childish?
I still indulge in childishness. But I've made a lot of progress from "fake grown-up" to "actual grown-up" since the last time I checked.

9. What is the last thing you said out loud?
I don't actually remember. Something to [livejournal.com profile] cell23 about the cats, I think.

10. What song comes closest to how you feel about your life right now?
The first thing that popped into my head was "Adventure Time! C'mon, grab your friends, we'll head to very distant lands..." so, I'ma just go with that.

11. Have you ever taken martial arts classes?
*wistful sigh* Once upon a time, six year old Andee decided to try Judo during her afterschool program. Six year old Andee loved it. Three weeks into class six year old Andee's mom saw her weensy little daughter gleefully flipping giant by comparison third grade boys over her head. Six year old Andee's Mom decided tap/ballet lessons were a safer, better and most importantly more ladylike afterschool activity.

I might still be a wee bit bitter about that. I loved ballet, but, man, flipping people bigger than you over your head is an important life skill.

12. Does your life tend to get better or worse or does it just stay the same?
I've been on an upswing for exactly long enough to start warily eying the sky for falling shoes. But I can never say my life is boring.

13. Does time really heal all wounds?
I cant speak to ALL wounds, having not had them all, but it does help. Also pretty good at softening/lightening pre-existing scars. I no longer have a raised ridge down my belly anymore, it's weird and kind of exciting.

14. How do you handle a rainy day?
They don't bother me too much, as long as I have something to cover my head if I have to be out in it. I utterly despise the sensation of having water dripping onto the top of my head. Also I tend to prefer warm rain to cold. And being out in thunderstorms does scare me, though I enjoy them from the safety of indoors.

15. Which is worse...losing your luggage or having to sort out tangled holiday lights?
Thankfully I have never lost luggage. Untangling holiday lights doesn't bother me, it's plugging them in, having half of them not light up, and then having to find and replace the burnt out/missing bulb that makes me want to murder everything.

16. How is your relationship with your parents?
Distant, but okay. Well, in one case the distance is across a spiritual plane, depending on your belief system.

17. Do you tend to be aware of what is going on around you?
Depends on if I'm INTERESTED in what's going on around me. If not, I am willfully oblivious.

18. What is the truest thing that you know?
You can't please everyone. Hell most days it's a struggle merely pleasing yourself.

19. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A dancer and a writer. My life is tugging me back to those original goals.

20. Have you ever been given a second chance?
I suppose certain life experiences could count. But it really all depends on what you think a second chance is.

21. Are you more of a giver or a taker?
I might as well have "by Lois Lowry" tattooed on my butt.

22. Do you make your decisions with an open heart/mind?
I make decisions based on varying degrees of necessity.

23. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Intestinal perforation. Remember I mentioned a scar? yeah. Turns out when your intestine flat out ruptures, it hurts. A LOT. I vaguely want get pregnant simply to see if labor is comparable.

24. What is the most emotionally painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Dealing with a lot of hard truths about myself, my life, my choices and their consequences over the past four years. It is not a fun process.

25. Who have you hugged today?
The manbeast. You'd never know it, but he's a major snuggler.

26. Who has done something today to show they care about you?
Today? [livejournal.com profile] extrajoker gave me a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle featuring Ron Perlman as Vincent from Beauty and the Beast as a belated Christmas present, as well as a book on the musical history of New York City. Goddamn that woman knows me way too well. I might have squeeed and stomped my feet with excitement when I saw the puzzle, just saying.

And then when I got home from game to find out I'd missed the husbeast's text asking me to go get TP (for our bungholes!) he put on pants and came with me to get it instead of making me go get it all by me onesies.

27. Do you have a lot to learn?
Oh always. You know that Tarot card, the Fool? yeah, that might well be me.

28. If you could learn how to do three things just by wishing and not by working what would they be?
A: have laser-like focus all the time
B: how to take stunning photographs with the Hatemonger without cheating and using the automatic settings
C: how to speak several more languages fluently, as well as the couple I already speak very badly unless drunk.

29. Which do you remember the longest: what other people say, what other people do or how other people make you feel?
I think it's a combination of what people say and how that makes me feel, especially if its something that evokes a strong emotion. Usually, unfortunately, humiliation of some sort. :P

30. What are the key ingredients to having a good relationship?
I think in the case of my current one, a constant threat of swift and immediate death or at least a heinous level of Stooge-like violence. And you know, the usual bits. Communication, humor, understanding. But also in our case, just relentlessly stubborn commitment. I can't see either of us jumping ship just because the going got tough.

31. What 3 things do you want to do before you die?
A: Get out of the states. Even better, off the continent. Just. Once. I have a train ride from London to Vladivostok to take, damn it.
B: Get published.
C: Get completely out of all personal and actual debt.

32. What three things would you want to die to avoid doing?
I don't know if I could come up with three, but I do find it sobering that I vividly remember praying for death rather than have to go to the dentist for yet another tooth pull as a child. I was not far gone enough to want it by my own hand, but I was very open to having an anvil dropped on my head or getting hit by a bus. Actually, I'm a little horrified knowing such things were in my head thinking about Kidzilla and remembering she's about the same age I was...

33. Is there a cause you believe in more than any other cause?
I am pretty cynical with regard to causes, but I'm a big fan of not having what goes in and out of my vagina legislated unless it's without my consent.

34. What does each decade make you think of:
60's -- civil rights movement
70s -- Glam rock
80's -- flourescents, leopard prints, and heavily graffiti-laden subway trains
90's -- the actual decade of my self-awareness and where I think 90% of my personality developed.

35. Which decade do you feel the most special connection to and why?
Probably the 90s, for the above reasons. I'm liking the teens so far as well. We'll see.

36. What is your favorite oldie/classic rock song?
Close tie between Supertramp's "Take the Long Way Home" and pretty much the entirety of Pink Floyd's The Wall. Shit. May have to listen to both now. Well maybe after I feed the cats. In fact, BRB.

All right, Supertramp going in iTunes, fuzzbeasts fed. Where was I?

Oh yeah. Can I just give a shot out to how much I love the cover to Breakfast in America? I mean, yeah, it would appeal to my New Yorker sensibilities, but seriously look at this:

We used to have this on vinyl when I was a kid. I could probably still find it if I looked hard enough at The House. But I used to spend hours staring at this cover and delighting at the skyline of dishes. FORK PIERS. I mean, this cover was a work of utter genius.

But I digress.

37. What country do you live in and who is the leader of that country?
MURRRRCA FUCK YEAH.

And thank you very much this ridiculously handsome, charismatic man and that stunning, intelligent woman besides him with the most fabulous arms in civilization are my President and First Lady.

Nom.

**(at this point I was interrupted by Social Mischief. We return to our fair survey several hours later and slightly tipsy. Slightly.)**

38. What's your favorite TV channel to watch in the middle of the night?
Youtube. If I'm somewhere with cable, well, there's always a Law & Order marathon going somewhere.

39. What Disney villain are you the most like and why?
Maleficent. Honestly I like all the Disney Villains far more than the Princesses, especially the ones that are all like NAW FUCK ALL OF THIS I'M FUCKING EVIL AND LIKE FUCKING SHIT UP. OH YEAH AND I'M GREEN.

ETA: oh whoops I misread the question as "do you most like." Eh... the same answer applies. Depending on which reading of the fairy tale you do, all she wanted was a damn invitation to the christening - leaving her out just because she's green and scary looking is just rude. And foolhardy, considering what happens.

40. Have you ever been a girl scout/boy scout?
No, but I'll eat the shit out of some Samoas, thank you.

41. If you were traveling to another continent would you rather fly or take a boat?
Fly, even though I hate planes. I hate boats more. Hell I get super wiggy on ferries, and that's within sight of land. There's also that BORED NOW WANNA BE DONE TRAVELLING factor.

42. Why is the sky blue during the day and black at night?
I know the answer to this, but I want Neil DeGrasse Tyson to explain it because he's smart, more eloquent than I am and damn it, hearing him explain stuff is sexy.

43. What does your name mean?
That my biological mother had two best friends named Angela and Dierdre.

44. Would you rather explore the deeps of the ocean or outer space?
Space. Deep water wigs me out. See problem with boats. I'm kinda upset by this because problem with boats and open water = very shitty dread Pirate Browne-Tatro.

45. Word association
What is the first word that comes to mind when you see the word:
Air: Jordans
Meat: Yum
Different: Strokes
Pink: ew
Deserve: fudge
White: wedding
Elvis: pelvis
Magic: dance
Heart: attack
Clash: SHARIIIIIIIIIIIIIIF DON'T LIKE IT
Pulp: Fiction

46. If you could meet any person in the world who is dead who would you want it to be?
Some of the ancestors I know about sound like they'd be amazing. Like Mom's dad. Never got a chance to meet him and he was badass and awesome.

47. What if you could meet anyone who is alive?
NK Jemison sounds like so much fun.

48. Is there a movie that you love so much you could watch it everyday?
There are several movies that I love out there that I DID go through a stage of watching them every day. The Princess Bride. The Fifth Element. Coming To America. Grosse Pointe Blank. A Little Princess (the Cuaron version). Adventures in Babysitting. What? you didn't say they had to be GOOD movies.

49. You are going to be stuck alone in an elevator for a week. What do you bring to do?
First of all I would really like to know how I know this in advance and why I haven't done something to prevent it, because, what the hell.

50. Have you ever saved someone's life or had your life saved?
I've never saved anyone's life, but I have a dim memory of nearly drowning in a wave pool when I was little and someone noticing I was in trouble and dragging me out.

51. Make up a definition for the following silly words...
Fruitgoogle: How Chiquita Banana or Lola the Showgirl picks out their next outfits.
Ambytime: What doctors/nurses call that time when you're stuck in the hospital and they want you to walk around the ward so your lungs don't collapse or something.
Asscactus: what you call someone who cuts you off while driving through the desert. Or really for doing anything because "Asscactus" is a hilarious word.

52. What was the last thing you made with your own hands?
click my crafty crap tag. That bead thing has eaten my LIFE.

53. What was your favorite toy as a child?
My Apple IIGS.

54. How many TVs are in your house?
One, but to be fair, it's pretty huge.

55. What is your favorite thing to do outside?
I miss having a bike. though I'd been pretty happy with my attempts to grow shit during the warmer bits of the year.

56. How do you feel when you see a rainbow?
Squeeeeee pretteh!!

57. Have you ever dreamt a dream that came true?
Not exactly, but I have had it happen that I'd dream about someone I hadn't seen or thought about for a while and either run into them physically or hear from them somehow the next day.

58. Have you ever been to a psychic/tarot reader?
Please. I read my own cards, and I don't even charge myself money. Though admittedly I haven't pulled out either of my decks in a while.

59. What is your idea of paradise?
I have this place I retreat to in my head... it's a wee Victorian house with a wraparound porch, in the middle of a random wooded area, and it is always early to mid-October when the leaves are at full color and the weather is still warm enough for a light jacket or none at all. I'd stay there and read, and check the internet and never ever leave, and be perfectly happy.

60. Do you believe in god and if so what is he/she/it like?
I kinda believe in the great To Whom It May Concern. Mostly my take on Powers That May Be is I have no problem believing they exist. I have all the problems believing they actually give any kind of shits about humanity in general and our petty day to day affairs.

61. Do you believe in Hell?
No, but I wish it existed just because I desperately want there to be a place where bad people go to be forced to wear itchy wool sweaters for all of eternity.

62. What one thing have you done that most people haven't?
Lost three inches of intestine, survived a pulmonary embolism, had chicken pox four times. Kind of amused that all my truly unique accomplishments are all medical.

63. What is the kindest thing you have ever done?
Kindest? Hm. I don't know. I do tend to go out of my way for mine if needed and possible, but that's just because I do try to be somewhat of a decent person.

64. Are you a patient person?
In some ways incredibly so. (You've seen that bead project right?) And in others? Nope. WHY IS IT NOT MY BIRTHDAY RIGHT NOW. WHY DO I NOT HAVE ONE MARSHMALLOW NOW? WHAT IS THIS TWO MARSHMALLOWS LATER BULLSHIT? Oh wait, I don't like marshmallows.
