Apparently sometime last November this guy stumbled across Bowser while he was up on Etsy and liked him so much he blogged about it.

Beaded Bowser Descends from Your Wall

Color me flattered. Wish I'd seen it sooner.

Ever read something that just makes you feel whacked about the head and shoulders with sledgehammers of truthiness? Yeah, I just read [livejournal.com profile] tacit's latest entry and boy howdy am I in a PLACE right now. I need to go have some serious thinks now, yikes. Maybe with a side of angst. :/

By the way, if the amusing exploits and intensely thought provoking essays of a poly atheist kinkster geek appeal to you, I strongly recommend friending [livejournal.com profile] tacit either here or on twitter (he's @franklinveaux there). And regardless, give his latest post on couple privilege and how it comes into play in poly relationships a read, even if you're monogamous. It will certainly make you think.

Why is it always the days when I'm busiest that I post the most?

Anyway I haven't said much about the Psychology Today dustup that happened recently, nor am I going to. Others have said it far more eloquently than I ever could. But between that and a couple of other things that have ignited the racial rage, I'm in seriously annoyed headspace. What I will do is post links, because the aforementioned more-eloquent-than-I people need to have their words read, as they are important.

You Keep Saying Black Women Are Ugly Worthless Whores And We Refuse To Believe You - [livejournal.com profile] karnythia's response to the PT ish

Why are Black women so gorgeous, resourceful, talented, intelligent and hated on?

Somewhat unrelated to the above, but in the same theme is "A Day at the Park" which... yeah, I can't. I choked up reading it. As someone who has gotten the occasional funny look at the playground/library when interacting directly with two particular short pale people, parts of this resonated a bit too hard for me. The rest... just... wow. Poor guy.

tl;dr - Racism sucks. In other news, bears shit in the woods, the Pope is Catholic, and the Terminator's been having secret love children with his political staffers. How's your day been? :/

"Smooth Criminal" on duelling cellos! (hattip to [livejournal.com profile] nounsandverbs)

Today's Teefury! (I'd so wear that!)

Speaking of Peach, Super Mario as a first person shooter! (hattip to [livejournal.com profile] cell23)

And just for shits and giggles, a really large Super Bowl burger:

I'm not really rooting for anyone/thing tonight, except possibly for Troy Polamalu's hair.

Coffee and cleaning now.

OMG, if you read and loved Madeleine L'Engle as a kid, you need to go watch "A Wrinkle In Time In 90 Seconds" RIGHT THE HELL NOW so I'm not the only one expiring from laughter over here. These kids NAILED it.

In other news, I am trying to get myself together to head for New York. I almost feel like I'm heading down unprepared because I don't have a hip flask in my possession. :P Also I know I say my online presence is gonna be iffy and then it never actually is, but yeah, standard warnings apply.

look after mine and Kidzilla's dragons while I'm gone? Also Squirekids, try to keep [livejournal.com profile] cell23 out of trouble. Or at least get him into entertaining trouble and tell me all about it when I get back?

Adopt one today! Adopt one today! !! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

Wish me luck, I'm going to need it.

OMG OMG OMG OMG HANDBELLS OMG OMG OMG OMG

*cough* ahem. Yeah so a couple months? back [livejournal.com profile] aradiadiane mentioned she was part of the handbell choir up the road at the Sunderland First Congregational Church. (I might have posted about it at the time, come to think of it, with very much the same level of capslock.) I VERY CALMLY and SEDATELY and not at all like a SMALL OVEREXCITED YAPPY DOG ON SPEED inquired if they needed extra ringers; she said she's pass her director my number.

So the director just called me! First rehearsal's on Wednesday afternoon, first performance is during Sunday services on 10/3.

Excuse me, I have to go zoom around the house much in the fashion that cats do after making large deposits in the litterbox. Thank heavens [livejournal.com profile] cell23's at game, lol. he'd be making fun of me FOREVER for the crazy monkey hysterionics happening.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Oh before I do that? Hattip to [livejournal.com profile] liamstliam for pointing his flist to NPR's 50 Greatest Voices. I've been reading/listening for the past hour and I am FASCINATED.

Okay, off to completely lose my shit now.

Normally I kinda hate Penny Arcade, but this morning's actually made me LOL because yes.

I'll believe it when it's in my hand, installed onto EPEEN and I've tucked a 20 into a stripper's g-string to make her bobble her pasties at me while Duke exhorts her to "shake it, baby." But meanwhile? OMG.

Yes, I'm actually excited about this, Duke 3D was one of the last games I got really into before kinda giving up on PC gaming way back when.

Adopt one today!
