Trying really hard not to let less than thirty seconds of colossal fail wreck my day. Because it was a very very good day.

Got up ass early this morning to get my laundry done. Timed it really well because [livejournal.com profile] cell23 called to tell me I could come over just as I was going to get it from the dryers. Woot.

Kidzilla required a little bit of coaxing to actually start the scavenger hunt, but after she figured out how it worked she was flying through the house looking for red(dish) envelopes. And even out of the house, as I'd taped one to [livejournal.com profile] cell23's license plate. But she found all nine clues (and I could breathe, I spend a good part of last night worrying that I'd put them out of order), put together the puzzle pieces and was pretty thrilled about heading down the the library. (I was also instructed to make the scavenger hunt harder next time. I say next time I'm getting a precut blank puzzle form to print onto, cause this exacto-knife + cardboard shit last night was not fun. Shrinky dinks may be a possibility.) Jones has an awesome kids room... which I knew in theory but this was my first time spending a lot of time in it. CAN WE SAY ENTIRE WALL OF FAIRY/FOLKTALES??? Though for aforementioned failtastic reasons I really kinda wish they'd stick the parenting books elsewhere.. but that's entirely for my own selfish reasons. >_< Anyway, due to a lovely woman reading stories and a huge table full of Thomas the Tank trains (Lovebug wanted ALL the trains, lol he needs a little work in the sharing department) we ended up staying for a good four hours and having a very late lunch.

Rest of the day was spent watching the qualifying rounds for the US pairs figure skating teams. I forgot how much I love figure skating on TV, it is full of the sparkle power fabulous (and apparently this year, full of Twilight vampires: at least three of the male halves of the pairs had Super!Sparkle costumes and severe Edward hair problems). And Lizzy likes it too. Vaguely want to see if there are any ice rinks around here now. I miss skating. Not that I was ever really all that good at it (tiny feet + tall girl + big ass = balance is kinda fucked up like whoa) but it's been years since I've gone. I'm pretty sure my old skates still fit, maybe next time I'm in New York I'll dig them out of the sunporch and take myself on a little nostalgia trip to one of the Wollmans.

Day was capped and nerves were soothed by first adorable short stacks in their Daddy's t-shirts hugging and kissing me goodnight, followed later on by some "Damn it, woman, feel better!" kisses from [livejournal.com profile] cell23. They worked.

Was tired a while ago, but stopped at Sev's to flirt with Erica and somehow left with a 24oz cup of coffee. All well and good, I have a cubic fuckton of laundry to put away, a loom to warp, and, well, *sigh* nightmares to avoid. I might be sleepwalking a bit through the Eric Carle festivities tomorrow.
