Random notes
Apr. 5th, 2010 02:44 pmWeather is beautiful and sunny. This is good skirt weather. Also good weather to work on salvaging my mostly dead coleus. Actually not even mostly dead. It's just missing leaves right now, but it _is_ rather stubbornly trying to shove out new ones. I think putting it out in the sunny is helping. But the forgetting to water it most of the winter didn't really help things... I don't know. That plant came to symbolize a lot of bad shit for me, and I think I was actively trying to kill it for a while, but that's kind of a shitty thing to do to another living thing. Even if it's just plant. But like I said, it is being rather stubborn on its refusal to die, so I'm trying in my own half assed sort of way to give it another chance.
I saw the first ep of the new DW last night with cell23. I've only ever sporadically watched Doctor Who, but enough of it has trickled in over the years via the ex and other fans of the show in my monkeyspace hat I have enough of a passing knowledge of it to appreciate it. I gotta say this new episode did hook me enough to want to keep watching from this point. This may or may not have to do with adorable redhead companion ...what? I really like redheads, okay? Shut up.
Got my first paperback swap book today - a hardcover edition of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Which, being the last HP was the one I actually never actually possessed so I'm kind of amused that it's the one that shows up first. It does seem like I'm getting them in reverse order, as I have Half-Assed Prince and Order of My Ass coming soon. Also have the rest of Dragonlance Legends coming my way as well (only had #1) and I think bits of the Abhorsen trilogy as well. So books ahoy. I'm pleased about this.
I could swear I had a window fan somewheres... Can't find it. Not that I super need it, considering the wind knocked over everything on my windowsill earlier.
