anagramofbrat: (to do list)
Last night after getting thoroughly bored with my usual activities online I took about an hour off and decided to noodle around with a notebook and a pen for an hour and a half. Some surprising things came out of that, including a project idea from years ago rearing its head and going OH HAI REMEMBER ME? It's actually a good time for it to resurface actually, as I think with HTML 5 stuff, it's actually doable now as opposed to when I first tried it back in 2003ish. So I'm kind of excited about that, and thinking I may dedicate the brain space and the energy I usually reserve for trying and spectacularly failing at NaNoWriMo to building it.

Yeah, I'm being cryptic, but I don't really want to give away too much and/or jinx the chances of this actually happening.

Two more things have come of this exercise, mainly a determination to finish any and all back projects by the end of October so I actually have the brain to devote to this come November. And I have a lot of those I've been neglecting, both at work and at home. So the next three weeks is going to be very busily clearing my plate and drinking a ton of coffee in order to have the drive/determination to get all of it done. The other thing is to spend a little time every night unplugged from the internet and doing offline shit. (Watching Netflix sadly does not count, though I'm still being eaten alive by my Watch Instantly queue.) My brain does interesting things when away from a screen, who would have thought it.

In health related crap news, I don't know what happened, lack of constant omnipresent stress, taking better care of myself, getting better with my pill schedule or what have you (I refuse to believe the Humira kicked in THAT quickly) my intestines have been behaving MUCH better lately. While this is good, it also means I have to consciously keep a weather eye on what I'm eating again, as I do not want to regain the forty pounds worth of "Eating hurts, lets not do it." (On the other hand if I just go up ten or so pounds I won't have to go pants shopping for a while... hmm...) Honestly what I'd REALLY like to do is pounce another_murray or [livejournal.com profile] somanygoldfish and get back into going to Planet Fitness on a reasonably regular basis especially since I'm still paying for the damn membership. I might as well be using it. But yeah, it's kind of the trend with me, the smaller I am, the worse shape I'm in, so I'd like to actually spend a little time fixing that. Also getting outside and walking before it gets too damn cold to do so. I got out there with [livejournal.com profile] deliriumdeva last night and it was good, even if we got rained on at the end.

Rather grumpy today that I only have two eps of Arrested Development left and I won't be able to catch tonight's episode of Sons of Anarchy until tomorrow morning (ye gods, how I hate watching series week to week!) I have the rest of Black Adder, all of Buffy/Angel, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Law and Order: SVU and 30 Rock queued up and I suppose I could watch one of those instead while I attempt to make a dent in my to-do list today, but mreh, I'm kind of anti starting up new/super long things. I suppose I could put on Buffy or SVU, considering I've seen most of those already and all I really require is background noise, cause a day later and it's still too quiet around here without the short stacks. Coming down from four straight days of having them around suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

Oh well, to-do list isn't going to make and do itself.

Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

It probably had to do with the fact that it was, in fact, raining at the time, but my dreams last night were full of biblical level rain and flooding, and me getting out of bed to look out the window just in time to watch my neighbor's van go floating away in between #22 and the 23/24 block.

And no, I didn't have to pee. Just water water everywhere. It was was weird, even though it was clear that if I'd gone downstairs in the dream I would have been wading through at least a couple feet of water, as I watched it come down I wasn't scared or worried or anything, and I guess I inherently knew everyone else was okay in the dream too. I'm sure there's some deep meaning in all of that somewhere (no pun intended), but damned if I know what it is.

I'd like to add that it's chilly but sunny and pretty out today. What the hell, subconscious.

Note to self - never type "Mario Spanking Peach" directly into google. Lets just say I inadvertently found a Peach/Yoshi fanporn that is begging to be reposted to [livejournal.com profile] weepingcock. Rule 34, destroying childhoods one bottle of brain bleach at a time.

Anyway. I felt the announcement that the SNES that I tried to give away a couple months back ([livejournal.com profile] cell23 convinced me to keep it) is hooked up and still working warranted an appropriate icon, and I've always loved the hell out of this animation so there you go. (I'll probably also use it for 8 bit beading projects when I get going on those again.) Now if I knew where the hell my Super Castlevania IV cartridge ended up, we'd be in business. Also looking forward to the trash talking and bloody fights that inevitably break out over bouts of Tetris and Kirby's Avalanche. I'm sensing drunken old school gaming night in the near future....
