What's this? [livejournal.com profile] extrajoker's birthday??

May it be as full of manic wonder as a skeleton discovering Christmas for the first time!

In other news:

I'm actually at the office today! And like, not freaking out. *sigh* you know that sequence in I Feel Sick when Devi is having a meltdown at Tenna because her suggestion towards fixing all her problems is "you need to get out more?" yeah.

Related to that, I've been fighting uphill battles against the dragons of depression lately, but the last week or so has been massive doses of crazy cakes. I had confirmation last night that a fairly high percentage of that is/was hormonal. Stupid girbits. At least, that's the story I'm going to give to the cops when they find the bodies in the basement.

(...we don't actually have a basement.)

Have finished both Naamah books. Grumpy that the next one isn't out until sometime in 2011. Need something light and fluffy (the series took a bit of an Empire Strikes Back turn into EVERYTHING SUCKS OH GOD) so I think I'm going to read The Season and Rampant next before diving into Kavalier and Clay et al.

You know how I used to cheerfully refer to getting hit with the WTF bat every week while watching LOST? I find that something very similar happens with 30Rock at least once an episode - something will happen or a character will say something so fucking off the wall that my mouth will just drop open and stay there for a few minutes. It's definitely a WTF bat of a sort. There was a line uttered in Salma Hayek's painfully sexy accent in an episode we watched last night that definitely necessitated scraping the jaw off the floor. (It involved a slanket and what precisely Liz should be doing with one.)

My journaling project has been... progressing. I slacked off horribly last weekend and didn't work on it for five days so I find myself lagging about 5000 words behind currently but seeing as on the days I do actually work on it I average about 2500-2700 words or so I'm not too worried. should be back on track fairly soon.

Right... off to do productive things now.

Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

Still feel behind on everything and therefore at life, but today's not over and tomorrow's another chance to suit up and battle on. I haven't lost yet.

On searching for really specific images:

Chances you will find an image of the Earth, with the sun peeking out from one side and being orbited by a satellite: surprisingly small.

Chances you will find an image of three goats, Hans Landa, some dude in a plush pteredactyl suit and a provocatively posed and alarmingly young-looking schoolgirl: pretty good.

This post brought to you by a fruitless search for stock photography at work.
