It's always a hell of a thing finding out that someone you knew at some point, not well, but enough to like/respect/say hi to/share an occasional laugh with, has died. I suppose as one gets older and it starts happening more often... no. I can't imagine ever getting used to this odd gutpunched feeling. I guess tonight the feeling is compounded by the fact that the person in immediate question was someone I knew in slightly more than passing as a teenager, and we spent years passing greetings to each other through mutual connections with the intent to get into closer touch at some point. I'm more than a little sad that it's never going to happen now. May he rest in peace.

Other than that little bit of sudden wind out of sails and a little bit of an ohshitohshitohshit start to the morning (things snowballing at job#1 while at job#2), today was a reasonably good one, punctuated by a surprise visit to town by
htl_1126 and her friend and a resulting trip to Oh My, which is always a terrible idea during lunch owing to me spending the rest of the day mad at my money and twitterpated to boot. At least as far as frustrations go that's a reasonably fun one. Also for super bonus, there was a
deliriumdeva in town as well towards the end of the day, with the result that instead of it taking an hour and a half to get home today I got a ride home in under 20. Score.

Me: HEY! Happy birthday and congrats on being officially an adult (if not spiritually - but who is?) Love you kid.
Alé: Thanks:-D i love you!
Me: :) speaking of which, nothing definite yet, but would you like to be in my wedding? You _would_ have to wear a dress, but I won't make you look ugly. :)
Alé: Yes i shall participate in the ceremonial capture of drools manly freedom and be forcibly attached to one dominant female who will rule him with an iron fist:-D
Me: eeeeeeexcellent! SMITHERS. RELEASE THE BEES.
Alé: In other words he will not be able to escape your wrath of matrimonial horror until the day that he dies of your oppression muhahahaha
Me: Well, I do keep threatening to kill him...
...I love this kid.
