Mo money mo money

Man, y'all gave me some weighty topics in answer to the last post. Most of the reason why I haven't gotten cracking on those is because they all require thought, consideration and heft, in terms of word count. Also lazy.

I guess I'll start with the easiest one. What would I do if I won the lottery?

First of all i'd try to keep the fact that I'd won on the d/l as much as I can manage. In some cases this is impossible (names get published and stuff) but not everyone needs to know. Also never take the lump sum. Seriously. Don't do it. Priority would be zeroing out any money owed various places, followed by setting up college funds for various and sundry small people, other funds for charity and causes, then setting up a killer investment portfolio so I can keep making money. Also see hiring people better than I am about this stuff to manage it for me, because quite frankly I'm shit with money, and this only gets worse the more I have.

I'd set aside a small percentage for "fun money." I tend to not spend money on myself unless I absolutely have to due to an utter dislike of personal shopping. Exceptions being Home Depot and food. I do spend an appalling amount on things that go into my face.

I'd make one huge splurge and actually take that trip visiting everybody and all the skyscrapers and trains I want to see around the world. Maybe take folks with me if I'm not feeling stompy.

Other than that, eh. I'd try to keep my day to day life as normal as I could manage since I dislike huge changes, keep whatever day job I have at the time so I have something to do during the day (maybe only go part time though), and enjoy the idea of life without having to worry about money at all ever anymore, because that by itself would be a Tremendous Thing. Certainly not going to go nuts with gold toilets and grilles or nothing. Okay, maybe a decent car or two. Decent as in a nice Toyota hybrid of some description, not decent as in a Bentley. *rolleyes*
