the weekend, post dress
Sep. 4th, 2012 11:00 amSchool has started. I get to use this icon. Mreh.
This weekend's been a good one. Sunday after I picked up my dress we took the kids to the 3 County Fair and had a surprising amount of fun while there. I think it helped that both kids are now tall enough to go on rides mostly unaccompanied now and we weren't hyperbroke this time (only mildly broke, lol) so we had enough to indulge in rides and horrible fair food. I wish I'd gotten a picture after Kidzilla and I split a fried dough - so covered in sugar, and she was wearing a dark colored dress.
But yeah, it was a good time. We went later in the afternoon so as to miss the heat for the most part, and watching Kidzilla's eyes get all huge as she got to walk through a fair lit up at night was something. We also took in a small family circus show and the alligator show while we were there. Not so much with visiting the livestock this year, but that was okay. Along the way Lil'Beast got to experience his first roller coaster - he came off it crying, but at the same time he insisted it was AWESOME so I think he liked it? He either gets the appeal of roller coasters completely or... yeah IDK.
Labor day itself was reasonably low key. I kinda lost my shit and scrubbed out the bathroom and our room, going so far as to throw the shower curtain and the bath mat in the wash. Later on there was dead thing on sticks on the grill and some TV and cuddle time with the Manbeast, so overall a very good 3 day weekend was had.
Plans for this week is hardcore wedding stuff along with work and other assorted freaking out About Stuff, lol. You know, the usual. Also adjusting to the new bus schedule, which exasperatingly narrows the window between leaping off one bus in the morning and catching the next down to about a minute and a half, which pretty much means I'm gonna be late to work for the rest of the month. Le. Sigh.
