Sssssssssssssssshit.
Nov. 4th, 2012 11:23 pmHaven't posted since actual Halloween, whoops. Considering I didn't get to dress up until
avalon616's party last night, it does not yet quite feel like a few days into November.
It's been an up and down weekend. The up part was yesterday and watching Evita with
aersi and
deliriumdeva in the early afternoon, making a shitton of cheesy biscuits a bit later and then getting back into my wedding dress, a two dollar witch wig and some gray corpsy makeup, and getting down my actual wedding bouquet from where it had been drying on in the closet. So yeah, got to recycle almost the entire outfit. Hey, most people get one wear out of their wedding dress so I think I did pretty good.

It definitely has to go to the dry cleaner now though. Meh, when I have time to deal with that I will. Meanwhile, man, what the hell do I DO with the damn thing?
Anyway, party... was... fun? Interesting? Informative? All three? I didn't feel like drinking so there was a lot of observing my friends being silly, schmoopy, deranged, and very very amusing. I had several conversations with several people I wasn't expecting to have that I'm still processing/recovering from (good stuff, but... heavy? idk). And watching my husband prance about in fake facial hair, daisy dukes and pantyhose as Sexy
omgwtfaninja was pretty damn priceless. Especially as omgwtfaninja was actually there and... unsure how to deal with the Sexy Himself. Though he did say that
cell23 nailed a lot of it. I should hope so, considering the amount of Electric Six I was subjected to while he was getting into character.
As an aside,
cell23 has been experimenting with home brewed beer and cider (as well as the ill fated pumpkin rum from earlier). I'm happy to say that people quite enjoyed his cider at the party so he's going to do that again. We'll see how his chili lime beer comes out a bit later.
The night slid a little after
cell23 and I came home. Still honestly processing that too, but not going to do it publicly. No worries, we're fine.
By contrast today was... sigh. Phone calls at 7am on Sunday are never good. TL;DR
cell23's ex-mother-in-law's quite ill. This is coming as a shock to everyone - the last we'd seen her was at the wedding and she had seemed fine then so having this happen a month later is... yeah. Much of this evening was visiting at the hospital and then driving
chirping_monkey and her sister home and staying to hang out and be supportive. Needless to say I'm a jumble of feelings about this, though I was kinda grimly amused to note that I can still pretty much find my way around Cooley Dick blindfolded thanks to the aimless wandering I did the last time I, well, had occasion to hang out there for an extended period of time.
The bright point of today is I did get to see the kids for about an hour, and if having a ridiculously adorable five year old boy jump into your arms to give you kisses, hugs and "I love you"s isn't a mood lifter I don't know what is. I also admit I do love closing my eyes, throwing out my arms and saying loudly "I AM FEELING RIDICULOUSLY UNHUGGED! WHO WILL FIX THIS FOR ME??" and having two giggling short people pile on the love.
So yeah. All of that happened.
meanwhile Christopher Belmont now has Beefy Buttocks and one Heroic Haunch. I haven't taken a picture in a bit, but you can see the top of said Beefy Buttocks in this one from a couple days ago.
