Sunny and nice out right now. Was there a tropical storm or something earlier? ;)

The tail ends of Irene are still around in the form of gusty breeze, but overall looks like the worst missed us here in MA. Part of me is bemoaning the lack of weather related drama (and thus the necessity of going to work tomorrow) the other part is relieved.

And life returns to normal, eh? Just keep in mind, guys... the Atlantic hurricane season lasts 'till October. ;) Might want to hang onto the canned goods and water until then.

North Adams got hit pretty hard, as did Greenfield and a few other spots. Like, massive flooding, bridges and streets washed out and a few houses that got washed away. There are trees down all over, too. It ended up not being *that* bad, but a few areas did get the full mess of it.

I feel bad, because....see, the people at the grocery store who buy 26 gallons of milk and 40 loaves of bread before every storm drive me nuts. I looked at Irene and concluded it just wasn't going to be a big deal in my area. And in fact..uh..my trash cans blew over, and that's it. So on one level I feel smug. But I realize some areas really did take a beating.

Yeah, what Emily said. I have friends posting pics on FB of towns in MA with lots of flooding. Shelburne was hit hard as well as the ones Emily mentioned. Just saw some pics from Brattleboro, VT. Tons of flooding there. Insane. Glad it missed you guys! :)
