The power came back at 4pm on the dot yesterday in Squire. Dear gods I have never been so happy for a hot shower in my life. Also light! Heat! not having to squint when reading library books? LAUNDRY!
Drew and I hosted the Geoffroys for dinner last night, which was nice. Really it's things like this that makes me revise my cynical opinion of humanity in general for five minutes. The offers of hot food, showers, laundry things, and internet usage flitting around Facebook this morning were pretty heartwarming, I won't lie.
Sunderland's not entirely up to speed - our internet is still out. Considering the miracle of light and heat that's a distantly secondary worry.
