Amused by Great Smithie (indeed, 5-colleger) exodus in progress. There were just waves of them this evening coming down the hill rolling suitcases behind them.
working tomorrow? yes, for a half day. Black Friday? Oh Hell no. I will be home, hiding from the crazy, scheming holiday decorations and probably getting bulldozed into another session of RPGKids. Or reading the Graveyard book. Anything but participating in the madness. Always been more of a cyber monday gal anyway.
Muppets this weekend!
Had last session of DnD tonight. While the combat and mechanics had gotten grueling for all and sundry and it was clearly time to wrap up and stop, well, moment of silence for Leoniras, Slatemane, Tiva, Quintus, Mare and even Nell. Crud. Maybe it's because I haven't played enough games to have gone through a billionty one characters but I still get sad at the end of campaigns when I have to let a character I've hung out inside for a few hours every week go triumphantly and not at all quietly into the night.
Some part of tomorrow and Thursday will be devoted to candying up some sweet potatoes West Indian style and baking pumpkin bread to take to table on Thursday. NGL I intend to eat myself silly at Thanksgiving, horrifying and probably inevitable gastronomical aftereffects be damned.
RIP Anne McCaffrey. Sacriligious as it may sound I enjoyed your overblown romantic space operas far more than your equally overblown and romantic fantasies that yet stuffed little girls' minds with the notion that riding a dragon (that also happens to be your planet's defense system) might be the most awesome thing ever. You will be missed.
I'm impressed, it took almost two straight months of almost non-stop work, but I hit the brain wall on sqwrrl. Bit masking and getting it to work how I think it should may make or break this project, lol.
Nervy, excited, and kinda intimidated by Things What Are Expected in the next few days. Probably a very long brain dump post to follow these things actually happening.
