Some short bits for today:
Well, 1, it's game day, and CandA are hosting the annual Ultimate Grabass, and since it seems to have turned into potluck, I anticipate deliciousness. I'm personally planning to bring cheese biscuits (grated up an entire 8oz bar last night, ow) and current cordial toddy, plus Drew is making wings. Judging by the rumors of who else is coming and where their specialties lie, I imagine I'll have to be rolled across Squire after the game.
Being a transplanted New Yorker in Massachussetts, I abstain from rooting for either the Giants or the Pats. I instead resolve to enjoy the game regardless and hope both teams bring it. Nothing more boring than a huge point discrepancy at the beginning of the game, you know?
It's been kinda quiet and low key with the kids this weekend - so far the only big bits of excitement is letting Kidzilla tag along to the farmer's market yesterday and
cell23 baking red velvet cupcakes with them later in the afternoon. Later on
cell23 is going to take Kidzilla to see Big Miracle while I chill with Lil'Beast; usually movies are my wheelhouse, but I'm really disinclined to see a cheesefest about whales so I figured since he's been bummed about missing the movie trip last time around, he could take her this time... and that way the oven'll be free by the time he comes back, lol.
One good thing about being subjected to Groundhog Day all day on Thursday is that I got to observe the iPad to HDTV hookup in action, and this weekend I got to test run it at home. I'm rather impressed with how well it actually works (and how little it drains Sikudhani's battery), and figuring dropping a little money on the cables while saving up for a Roku is a good investment - meanwhile not being tied to watching my avi files on my computer is well worth the price of admission, especially with regards to things like Sherlock that has a lot of tiny on-screen text. Also see getting to watch my DVDs again. The one complaint is that there isn't a way to control the playback remotely that I can figure out (I'm sure there's some vital iCloud/iTunes/wifi interaction I'm missing) but whatever. Getting off my ass is a good thing.
I've slowly gotten back on track with project 365 - will be posting the spotty fits of picture taking from the past couple weeks a bit later. Right now I have to go reason with an angry 4 year old -
cell23's in the shower and Lil'Beast is quite put out that he can't get into the bathroom to fill up the teapot from Kidzilla's tea set. "BUT I WANT TO HAVE A TEA PARTY NOW." Sheesh, buddy. Four year old problems, heh.
LOVE ME.
