As a super special treat (and partially as a bribe to get the kids to eat their dinner and put up with a bath) all four members of Team Tatro West plopped onto the couch to watch the Doctor Who premiere.
The episode itself was good. I'm not going to spoil any of it, or really say much about the episode aside from goddamn it Moffat and your ability to go from terror to LMAO to HAND ME A TISSUE OH GOD at Mach 3. I swear, if he and Joss Whedon ever get together on a project the entire audience would die at the end from sheer FEELS overload. (Which is precisely why they should totally do it.)
Almost more fun than the actual episode was getting to watch it with the kiddos. It was the first time all of us got to watch a new episode all together - cell23 had been catching them both up via Netflix for a while now. Currently they've seen all of Eleven and Nine and most of Ten, with smatterings of previous doctor episode arcs. End result is that they are both total fans. I think I posted about how Lil'Beast got the Not!Lego Dalek command center for his birthday and had been running around with the two Dalek figures yelling "EXTERRRURRATE" at everyone which was both incredibly cute and incredibly annoying simultaneously. And Kidzilla is just old enough to begin to really get the other more emotional layers of the show besides the cheezy adventures and derringdo and allons-y. So watching them both experience the show at their level is really cool.
This comes with the side effect of Lil'Beast adding unexpected hilarity to last night's episode by squirming off the couch to hide behind it no less than five times. (He's five, give him a break.) As is proper, but wow. I'd thought that whole hide behind the sofa thing was a myth, lol.
