Wedding: Mostly planned out. All that really remains is for people to get back to me on what they're eating, the boys in my family to get back to me with their tux measurements and for things to get paid for. Tomorrow I go for my dress fitting/alteration. Oh and i need to send Dad a final breakdown of costs today. And drag
cell23 to get ring sized. I swear, we're gonna end up getting married with paper cracker jack rings at this rate; I keep frakking forgetting about them.
Burlesque: Have I mentioned how much I love working this show? Cause I have a great time every time I do. I mean, I love just going and watching the show, but something about being part of it just, well, GIVES ME LIFE. :) Maybe it's my strange crush on Hors D'oeuvres? Who knows. Anyway Saturday did not disappoint, despite it being a more stressful show to set up than usual, it being the Tassel Tussle, the annual amateur burlesque competition... which this year was about 400% better than last year's. And messier - the stuff having to get swept off the stage included the usual glitter and discarded clothing, but add a litter of tictacs to that and one of the last acts of the night involving a woman stomping out dressed as a Viking who proceeded to pull legs of turkey out of her costume and eat them with gusto... yeah. But a good show and time was had... and since they've confirmed they will be doing it again next year, I take it as my own personal challenge to put a routine together and get out there next September.
General Weekend stuff: We were supposed to have Kidzilla's birthday party on Saturday but due to a raging line of thunderstorms that were spawning tornados south of us, we called it. Hope kiddo wasn't too too disappointed. :/ I instead spent most of Saturday (and lets be honest Sunday too) rotting my brain in the WoW mines. My belf is now lvl 20. Man, I tell you, I remember when you had to wait until level fucking 40 to get mounted. This lvl 20 nonsense? I feel like i need to be telling players about walking to and from the Deadmines uphill through PvP zones or something.
Sunday night we threw all of the chicken in the fridge on the grill and invited a bunch of the Squirekids to come partake of dead thing and fire. Ended up having a nice hour or so outside around the grill socializing and eating slightly charred things off of sticks.
General stuff in general: I love that it's now cold at night and I can wedge myself pretty much under
cell23 while sleeping without it being nasty and sweaty. Looks like despite my current spot at the Store ending the week before my wedding Johnson and Hill won't keep me unemployed for long while I wait to hear back from some of the folks I sent resumes to. Ash is large, fuzzy and dumb, and getting larger, fuzzier, and vaguely smarter - he's figured out how to get the front door open if it's unlocked, so we now have to consistently keep it locked. He also woke us up at 6 this morning by stepping on the blender buttons and starting it up, scaring everyone to death with his lovely imbecilic self. Lily meanwhile just turned 3, as Dave's reminded us by sending us a 10% coupon. She remains mostly hate filled, but is back to climbing into our laps for lovins, so we think she's finally forgiven us for Ash. We hope, anyway.
Between work, WoW and wedding (hey! Three Ws!) I've barely had the time to get all thinky and broody lately. Which is a good thing. I like being too busy to think. Not that WoW counts as busy except on a cellular level but it's at least keeping me occupied.
Goose out.
