A busy, I have it. Not with anything big and notable, but little things can be just as time consuming as big things. I've also felt an increased need for rest/sleep this week, so a good portion of my time has been trying to obey my body's demands to LIE YISSELF DOWN WOMAN in good faith. It's more difficult than it sounds.

There's been a constant undercurrent of money fretting this week, and trying to deal with/get on top of that and also try to accept that these sorts of things resolve gradually rather than all at once, barring a lottery win or unexpected inheritance. I've had some successes to be proud of - I am caught up and current on all of the utilities am well under my data limit for Preciousssss II, and thanks to a little bit of help from my tax return (alas, less help than I was expecting due to some unplanned for penalties but whatever), am enough on track towards getting rent caught up that we scored our lease for next year and will be completely caught up by end of next month barring emergency. On the other hand, there is no rest for the wicked - after that's handled I have to attend to the shit that's actually torpedoing my credit rating (and thus screwing over [livejournal.com profile] cell23's as well), so we can regain the ability to do normal adult things. Again, nothing that's going to be resolved right away, hell, it's probably going to take a couple years to zero it out. But it at least will be sorted out, now that I'm paying attention to it. Only numbers on paper - easy enough to make them behave, right, Littlefinger? He said something to that effect in last week's Game of Thrones. Tyrion also said something rather pertinent to my situation about how growing up not having to worry about money doesn't automatically give you the skill to manage it.

Ugh. Speaking of paying attention, I've been doing well overall with my resolution to keep track of my money and where it's going, though I did fall off the wagon somewhat this month. Spent part of my sick day catching up and rebalancing my books, and I'm kinda mad at myself - I did really great in February on not eating "out" so much, but did awfully in March and April. A lot of it is just a failure to plan ahead with regard to eating/snacking at work and the fact that 7-11 is right up the hill from Squire and there's a Gulf convenience store next door to work. Gonna have to cut that shit out and start planning better. And also getting back into the habit of getting up early enough to make my own coffee rather than buy it, though another side goal for later on in the year is to wean myself back off of caffeine in general. Really, there are a few things about my eating habits I want to change, namely cutting down on the pure junk I've been eating a lot of lately because weight-wise I can get away with it (yay, wasting butt disease?) but truth be told, a lot of the reason I feel so tired and shitty all the time is because I'm eating crap. Ah well. Soon it will be yummy fresh vegetable and tomato season.

I think I said this before, but owing to aforementioned money ugh, I may not be able to afford any kind of big gardening efforts this year, but we'll see. I may just have to start late, like this time next month/early June. I'd like to at least get the strawberry plant outside and get at least one or two tomato plants going, but again, we'll just have to see.

Yesterday I had a double dose of cute at work, as first our mail clerk had her chihuahua with her in the morning, and then [livejournal.com profile] htl_1126 stopped by with Monkeybutter (don't ask why I've started calling CJ that, I partially blame RK Milholland), so I got small animal and baby fixes all in one day. Lord have mercy I forgot how much difference a month makes when they're that young, he's gotten bigger and squirmier and stronger. And expressive. He definitely seems to have perfected "dubious." Lol behbehz.

Today in among work stuff and contending with my innards being cranky with me, was a "throw the kids outside as much as possible" sort of day, as it was glorious out, and quite frankly if they stayed in the house much more than they did the burlap sack and the duct tape would have probably made an appearance. Yeesh. Cutting Wee Beastie's nails ended up being exactly like clipping the cats, except the cats hiss and grumble instead of screaming bloody murder throughout - it takes two people and a lot of restraining holds. But we ventured out into the "back yard" with the boomwhackers and spent a few hours soaking up sun, running around, and bopping things with plastic tubes, which does make a far better outdoor activity than in. At one point Kidzilla and I made up games to play with them - one involved me playing a note on my phone and them trying to find the boomwhacker that matched it; I was pleased to note neither of them have tin ears. Kidzilla then invented a version of capture the flag with them, which was actually kinda fun until my ankle was all OH HEY LETS ROLL and ow. That kinda put the kibosh on me playing run-around games for the rest of the day, and later much to my discomfort I discovered that falling and landing on my hands under a tree gave me splinters. Arg. I haven't had one of those since I was their size. Removing them sucks exactly as much as I remember. Other than that, Kidzilla helped her father make dinner, they got baths, we all watched Doctor Who (which was reasonably scary and kinda neat at points), and now they're all tucked into bed. I just heard something that sounded like a large book hitting the floor, so I'm guessing Kidzilla's finally asleep. She's still working her way though my Hitchhikers Guide omnibus. Lol, [livejournal.com profile] cell23 blew her mind earlier when he told her Douglas Adams used to write for Doctor Who.

In conclusion, I present Andee's Law #1: If, after consideration, posting anything about production and cleaning of either earwax or navel lint sounds like a plausible idea, it's time to step away from the internet. And since I've reached that point...

Brat out.
