Does anyone else have one item in their house that is ubiquitous to the point of ridiculous? I ask because Boobyhaven has too many Q-tips. I think what happened was that as Cara and I were unpacking the apartment we kept pulling out unopened packages of them - not just like little packets, like the 250-500 count packages, plus I think when I was running around shopping for basic apartment stuff back in September I might have bought another 500 count box of them. So yeah, there are a LOT of fucking q-tips in our bathroom closet. (By the way, Sunderfolks, if you EVER need any, seriously come over and help yourself.) We've started putting them on the grocery lists as a joke.

In other news I had a quiet evening with the house to myself after returning from [livejournal.com profile] veestah's birthday outing to the Bridgeside Grille. That is a cute little place. Also on my way there I had to pop a Uey in Sunderland proper (my New York sensibilities balk at calling the crossroads of 116 and 47 anything remotely reminiscent of "downtown") and discovered that a restaurant I'd always meant to try going back to is now there (The Blue Heron) so I may have to re-investigate that when money loosens up. I hope that place is as good as I remember.

I'm getting itchy for an adventure of sorts... Barring horrific weather, is anyone game for things like possibly a trip to the Book Mill weekend after next? OR. I've been wanting to take a long drive down to CT for a while mainly to see if this particular pizzeria is as good as I remember... yes it's a long fucking drive to get some pizza, but if this place and this particular pizza remains as I remember it will be worth the drive, I promise. I don't know, lately I've had this yen for driving to restaurants and places I used to go to a lot in the past but don't anymore, just to see if I am in fact remembering them correctly.

ANYWAY. Quiet evening - worked on Nuke's project some, pottered around the house some, then had an accidental nap and woke back up around 12:30. And I had a Pepsi Throwback, so I'm all awake and shit. Roommate's not home, so teasing her about ordering in hookers, blow and q-tips while she's gone via text message (which inspired the whole question about ubiquitous items). I should find something to do with the awakey-wakeys though. Maybe feed the plotbunnies, tuppence a bag? Honestly what I want to do is get in the car and drive... no destination, just me and the road and the fährvergnugen and some music under the stars (and they were quite pretty earlier tonight - glad the winter sky was not in fact ruined by various and sundry angst). But I should probably be a responsible adult and save the gas. Not to mention I still haven't gotten my strut and tie-rod fixed, so don't really wanna make Hanzo-san walk around on it unless I have to. ONCE THAT'S DONE, THOUGH. (nah, probably not, lol)

I'm glad January's almost over. I've got PLANS for February, and it looks like my luck and money will hold long enough to execute them.

We could use some Q-Tips......

Also, Blue Heron looks really nice, but it also one of those places you wait until a well off relative is visiting you until you go
