Better now. Very shortly after I posted the fail-gina issue, I got pinged by [livejournal.com profile] avalon616 and thus followed a rollicking adventure down to Northampton for comic/game store/hot D&D gossip/drinks at the Dirty Truth. I think [livejournal.com profile] cell23's assessment of my beer taste is correct - so far I have not yet encountered a porter I didn't like and I was quite happy with my little bottle of Founders while filching a good portion of [livejournal.com profile] avalon616's fries. Good times.

Since it seems like word is slowly spreading, I think it's okay to pretty much squee publicly about this now... [livejournal.com profile] cell23 and I are going to look at places next week. Like, together and stuff. O_o I think Red Riding Hood from Into the Woods put how I feel about it best: "...well, excited AND scared..." Though less those two distinct feelings and more of a constant reminder to self to not completely loose my shit with squee. Hey, the kids are insanely excited about this idea and that's mostly what I care about.

Rumor has it that they're re-releasing The Babysitters' Club. Except... updated for a modern audience. I'm not sure how I feel about my girls with cell phones and *gasp* the Internet. I mean, wasn't the whole reason why they had the club meetings in Claudia's room because she had her own land line? When's the last time you saw a kid even WANT a land line?

I have a brandy new copy of Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life to curl up with and reread in a bit, short stacks to play with this weekend, work that's actually getting done at work, pancake ingredients (um, [livejournal.com profile] deliriumdeva? can I borrow that sifter?) enough groceries to last me the rest of April, and cheap as hell replacements for all the books I knew, lost, and still miss coming at me via PBS, and the Soup is on in two minutes, though honestly I may skip it due to sleepy. So life is, per usual, annoying, but certainly not all bad.

Of course, I have "Anatomically Incompatible" stuck in my head now, which is something of a feat because that song doesn't have a tune. FML.

Yay! I think you'll be happy!

Oh, I read the interview with the author, she said the 'updates' were mainly removing "VCR" and "Cassette Player" and information on one of the character's diabetes was brought up to date. Shouldn't be too bad :D.

Oooh yeah, forgot about Stacey and her insulin and her doctor drama. Ann M Martin was always one for those "Very Special Episode" sorts of installments in the series. I wonder if they'll update the ones dealing with autism as well.

oh by the way, do you have a link?

Absolutely, just give me a call whenever you need it or have cell23 give me a call

I'm glad the small people are excited. :)

I did just see the first few BSC books back on the shelf this week for the first time in years-- *squee*. Did not know they were edited, though. For shame. Kids today can stand to learn about a time when people used phones that were attached to the wall.

Also-- *hugs*-- hope your cooter is ok!
