Hmm. Lets break the weekend down a bit...
#1: drive to NYC and back. Check (though cell23 drove from the CT border on home last night)
#1a: without fucking up Hanzo-san (or for that matter anyone/thing else). Check.
#2: introduce
cell23 to the Brownes. Dad, Ruthy and Imm, three checks, three seals of approval. Plus a small check and seal from Dad's cat.
#3: Bring back Dad's tablespoons so he'll quit fussing at me. Check
#4: find winter coat, get contents of dresser that were left behind. Check
#5: introduce
cell23 to my big bad city. Check. It was just an introduction, cause NY is NY and you can only mildly poke it in the space of a weekend. But as I said to him while were were walking back to the House through Prospect Park yesterday, "You'll be back."
Mission: ACCOMPLISHED.
We got home after midnight last night since we ran into every single traffic snarl in CT (note to self, don't take the Merritt until all that construction clears up), but that turned out to be fun rather than aggravating. Good music, good company and silliness pretty much will roundly negate the annoying effects of traffic congestion.
Yesterday was... I'll probably post about it a little more later. Maybe. *grin* a lot of what made yesterday intensely interesting and kinda awesome wasn't even so much where we went/what we did, it was more stuff on an emotional level that's kinda sticking with me. And I think if I post about it now, I'd owe all of you new monitors, because I don't think y'all's warranties cover death by squeecano. Just saying.
Bottom line, pretty excellent trip... and pretty great coming home too. And now I's gotta hie mine arse to work.
