Also: MAN I picked a great day to return to work. Drive down was wet and sloshy and full of visibility problems. And there was indeed a plastic container full of delicious mold on my desk when I got here (EW EW OH GOD EW) but there was also a half drunk bottle of Kosher Coke so it's not that bad.

Also also: thank the gods for sympathetic supervisors who know a thing or two about anxiety disorders.

Time to invoke the power of GAGA and get some damn work done.

Holy mother of the alphabet

I just spent half an hour and $37 at the post office because HALF THE STUFF I POSTED ON PAPERBACK SWAP HAS BEEN REQUESTED ALREADY. O_o I mean like holy crap dude that is insane I clearly need to stop reading and disliking popular shit!

The good news is I'm finally seeing the back ends of the two monstrous Thomas Covenant omnibusses (omnibi?), the LOTR omnibus (Loved the movies, despised the books, I know I know, sacrilege), and the two Terry Pratchetts. Toying with the idea of putting up all my Laurel K. Hamilton as well, or at least the different edition covers. And I've got a couple of the HP hardcovers coming my way so I'm happy. But jesus. I'm glad the rest of the stuff I put up isn't as popular cause goddamn.

BTW? if you aren't on PBS, get an account and friend me. And if you are, friend me. Same username. They also have affiliated sites to swap DVDs and CDs if that's more your thing.

I also need to hie myself down to the Jones. Thoroughly tired of everything on my (newly improved with extra-shelf kung fu grip) bookcase and I'm hankering after somewhat to read, Maybe pick up where I left off last summer on the Sano Ichiro mysteries, if they have em, though as always I'm open to recommendations. *stares meaningfully at the "leave a comment" link and then back at you*

I was just having a conversation with the Lovebug (and by extension his mama) on skype about the Discovery documentary Life. Apparently the Lovebug had noticed that animals generally get mommies but not generally Greggs (chirping_monkey's boyfriend). "Well, some animals have Greggs," chirping_monkey amended. "But it's super rare."

"Hey," I put in, "some animals get Andees too."

"Yeah!" Lovebug says with a huge grin, "Like Daddy!"



...I very nearly fell out of my chair and died of cute.
