Spent yesterday evening over at [livejournal.com profile] head58's and [livejournal.com profile] aliwings' with [livejournal.com profile] cell23, which was wicked fun... Man, their gang of geeks... I can totally see the squire crowd growing up to be them in five-ten years. And eeeeeeeeee, got to see [livejournal.com profile] emilytheslayer! You are so damn cute girl, I just want to hug you forever. :)

Went ahead and friended [livejournal.com profile] urnesha and [livejournal.com profile] telepresence too. I have someday got to introduce [livejournal.com profile] telepresence to [livejournal.com profile] masteradept and [livejournal.com profile] sixswordsamurai, since by turns he reminded me of both of them and I think a highlander like battle of the Big Black Geekmen needs to happen. THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE... nah just kidding, lol.

Late last week I got George R. R. Martin's A Game of Thrones and A Clash of Kings through paperbackswap since I had the credits, I wanted to see what the goddamn fuss was and it's finally been long enough that the Stacey-taint has worn off of the entire idea of reading them. Finished up A Game of Thrones last night.... okay, yeah, I can kinda see what all the panty-wetting is all about. I'm not sold on it being the second coming of Jesus in terms of fantasy or nothing, but I am engaged enough with it to want to read the rest (I do love me a big sprawling epic series - they're kinda like written soap operas), and [livejournal.com profile] aliwings did obligingly pack us home this morning with the remaining two doorstops books, so I should be well entertained for the next couple weeks. (What? I read fast.)

Other than that, not much new in Andee-land... still feeling a little withdrawn and headnoisey and not really inclined to post much (except for the other night's drunken capslock revelry - and the iPod autocorrection just makes that shit funnier, let me tell you), but for now I'm okay.

Also LOST finale tonight. I... don't know how to feel about that. Especially since I won't get to use this icon anymore. Le sad. Sayid is so gosh darn PRETTEH. Especially when he's killing people with breakdancing.

Off to download last night's Who and lie down. Mmm, digestive ick. :P

So apparently the Lost event tonight is a two hour clip show followed by the two and a half hour finale.

Now usually I'd be all over this, cause I'm the nerd that actually watches all the extras on DVD box sets and stuff. But I'm wiped out and crabby and would like to watch Who with the manbeast sometime tonight as well and not really feeling four and a half hours of LOST, even if it is the LAST 4.5 hours ever.

Once again I find myself cursing my lack of DVR.

On the other hand, 4.5 hours trapped in front of the TV does mean I could, theoretically yarn up my hair.

On the other other hand, I could get something else done with the first two hours of that time.

Ugh. Decisions.

Small secret about me: I'm very particular about food texture, and I have some very concrete "rules" about my food. One is that while I love their flavor, the texture of most berries makes me want to puke. Oddly enough, while this also applies to grapes (which, since it's similar textured, I'm lumping in here), it doesn't quite apply to cherry or grape tomatoes. Weird. But yeah, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, what have you. I can't stand them in their original forms. But I love jams and smoothies and shit.

Yes there is a point to this. Another of my rules is that I don't like crunchy things in my baked goods and think that walnuts, pecans, macadamias, and almonds have no place in cookies, brownies, cake or pie. (Also vegetables, though I'm not quite as rigid on that one - while I love sweet potato pie and carrot cake, anything baked with zucchini is an abomination before god.) My own personal holy grail is a white chocolate chip cookie without a macadamia nut in sight. Haven't found it yet.

Since I know I'm not the only person who feels this way I have often joked that I would open a chain of bakeries catering to this particular food quirk and call it "Nutless Wonders."
