NY trip

Pre-trip panic mode. The fact that my sisters keep sending me an ever expanding to-do list for when I get there isn't quite helping.

So glad I have the laptop to take with me; I won't feel nearly as disconnected as I generally do during these trips. And coming armed with something besides an iPod Touch is definitely a bonus.

Usual wishings of safe travel and smooth mental seas appreciated.

Probably sign #8237492 that I'm getting old (other than someone attending the Super Bowl gathering last night mentioning that they were in 3rd grade the year I graduated high school - wat): I still have the ability to be utterly astounded by technology I use every day. Like the fact that I am currently in a vehicle traveling down an interstate highway and yet connected to and working on a stationary computer in an office in Westfield as if I were sitting in front of that instead.

What the shit is this future shit? When I was your age we needed to make a phone call to use the internet, and it was so slow that downloading things would probably feel like walking to school uphill both ways through a blizzard and a molasses flood. Just. What. Pass me the geritol, sonny, mama needs her hip medicine.

Now if only the outlets on this bus actually worked... XD

ETA: they do on bus #2, yay!

soooo today went kinda pear shaped while en route to NY. I got an email from Vicki saying Dad was headed from rehab back to Mt. Sinai's ER.

Aaaaagh.

Anyway to make a long story and a wibble filled drive short, Dad's back in the hospital proper. Fluid in his lungs, probably pneumonia. *sigh* getting off Peter Pan and heading up to 100th and Madison is starting to become eerily routine. Anyway they've admitted him for observation and pumping him full of diuretics and antibiotics, hopefully that'll do the trick. :/

I'm sure I've said this before, but I am truly not allowed to complain about CDH's ER. Mount Sinai's is like the Major Deegan during rush hour.

So yeah... I don't even know how to feel about any of this. I'm just kinda sitting in the 7th floor day room with Vicki, we're both worn ragged, and I'm just too tired to feel much at all other than slightly tweaked by the vital sign monitor noises per usual. I'll sort it out after I get some food and sleep into my system, I suppose. If then.

Meantime have some pretty pictures of Times Square and Rockefeller Center I took tonight.

Kinda perversely dreading tonight's dailytwit roundup. I may have tweetshat right and left today. Anxiety's fun. :P
