It's very weird being on this side of the event. Nothing left to stress over or prepare for, no details to obsess over, no worrying about how the families behave with each other, no more mounting horror at various price tags. It's done, it's over. All that's left are thank you cards and announcement cards for people who are probably mad we didn't invite them. Also, I literally hurt from the jaw down. There was some Bon Jovi and Journey at the end of the night that got sung along to so hard that I think I sprained my larynx. Everything else is either the various muscle strains that come from not only wearing 14lbs worth of dress for 8 hours, but dancing, running around and flailing in said getup. The last fast dance was House of Pain, and I think I sprained my everything jumping around. But yeah, it all happened so damn fast... Its very similar to the feeling of watching an express train approach your station... it doesn't always appear to be moving at you so fast, and sometime it seems to be barely moving at all. and then suddenly it whooshes through the station and passes you and suddenly you're watching it leave listening to the doppler effect and being all wait what just happened? (Like this.)
Part of me doesn't want to make a whole big post yet. Partly because I'm still, well, processing it. Also because I kinda want to tell the whole story when Lesley's pictures come back, because she documented the entire thing and I feel like if I try to tell it now without pictures, I'll miss something. And I don't want to miss things - the whole day was amazing. I suppose I can list a few highlights...
( significantly more than a few )
There's so much I'm leaving out of that list, lol. It's okay. Whatever I forgot, I'm sure Drew remembers, or Lesley took a picture of, or something.
Today was so, by contrast, low key - just us coming home, placating the cats with tuna, taking a nap for several hours and then cell23 took me to Arigato Sushi and then Bart's for birthday noms. After which we came home, curled up on the couch watched Downton Abbey and marvelled at that whole sudden husband and wife thing. Eh... we'll get used to it eventually. :D
And oh hey, LJ handle change! because I like my four initials, yup.
