Wellp, here we go again
Oct. 31st, 2013 10:28 pmI said I was going to do the next bead project as my NaNoWriMo alternative, but I got a head start on it this week, which is all fine and dandy as it did keep me more or less sane in the face of more-annoying-than-usual illness.
This time we're doing a frame from Castlevania: The Adventure. Also known affectionately as Castlevania: The Clunky and Impossible. (It wasn't very good/well designed.) But hey, look that Christopher looks familiar, doesn't it? ;)

It's not a screenshot exactly, more of of a composite from actual screenshots and sprites (Thank heavens for Spriter's Resource!) But I'm pleased with the positioning of Christopher, the mud monster and the background trees, not to mention the balance between bead amounts. There are going to be longer tedious single color patches, but they also tend to go pretty fast so... it's good all around.

I'm eight rows in so far and already this is going much faster. The main difference in technique this time is that I'm only using six foot lengths of thread instead of 12. It's amazing how much time you cut out of this when you're only pulling half as much thread through. Even so, I seriously doubt I'll finish by the end of the month, but with some dedication and discipline, New Years is not out of the realm of possibility.
Wellp. Onwards!
1360 / 25840 beads. 3.125% done!
