lol yeah pretty much. That said the advertising delivery does look interesting and the not getting dumped into the browser if you accidentally hit one is a plus.... but I don't see how this iAd system isn't going to annoy the shit out of most of the customer base.

They'll probably spin it that revenues will go to developers and make apps cheaper? I think I saw a mention of that. But it's still as annoying as a V countdown timer on Lost.

Yeah that's pretty much what they did. Pretty much the only thing that could be appealing about the new ad delivery is movie trailers, but I don't know about including a whole damn web site worth of branded content behind every banner. :P

They're focusing on "wow, look at all the neat fun things these ads can do" but I don't care if it plays me a video of Han shooting first while giving m a reacharound, it's still advertising. feh.

yeah, still iffy on it. It will depend on the hardware spec for whatever new iPhone they release - if the camera resolution improves significantly I'll go for it. If not, I'll hold out for another year.

Some of the new Android phones have looked kinda neat, but the storage capacity just isn't there yet to make them a viable iPod replacement, and there's just no way to justify the monthly bill a smartphone currently entails.

yeah, I'm already kinda paying out the nose for my cell service because I hate actually talking on the damn thing and would actually rather pay for 1500 text messages, so a data plan wouldn't be that much more up from that.
