Just letting the wider world know that I got to NYC in one piece. Was a reasonably drama free drive until I was about five hundred feet from my exit off of the Gowanus. That's when all the speeding traffic hit an inexplicable inch deep puddle of water across three lanes and forgot how to drive. This wasn't helped by the SUV in the lane next to me skidding out and 360ing behind me and narrowly avoiding a seven care pileup. Yeah. I kinda hyperventilated all the rest of the way here. D: fucking New York driving, man.

Also. Fucking New York parking. After camping the block for the better part of an hour a space opened up across the street from the house with clearance for Hanzo-san and maybe one person with a bmi of 15 or lower. D: it took a fifty bajillion point turn, but by golly I made Hanzo squeeze in there and like it. Ugh.

Moral of story: try to leave the valley earlier than 9 pm next time.

actually, i was in NYC yesterday, too. but it was just a quick day trip to see my brother and a mutual friend while he was on this coast, so i didnt have time to find out whoall else would be around then.

we oughta meet up there one of these weekends...
