Today sucks. Yes, I realize it's only 10am, but trust me. It sucks and I hate it, fuck it. blah blah blah. Moving on to the one bit of of amusing in my day.
So adding to the week of misery and fail was me stressing about Hanzo-san, as I started to hear a high pitched squealing while I was driving him. Needless to say, this on top of everything else going on plus considering I have to drive 250 miles today has done wonders for my stress level. But it was something I'd pretty much written off as "I can't deal with it right now, fuck it," and resolved to ignore it as much as possible.
This morning as I was running around putting out fires, so to speak, it dawned on me that there was something very weird about the noise. Namely that it never varied in pitch, intensity or tone, regardless of what the car was doing. Or even when it was at a dead stop. Or, as I noted to my amusement when I finally worked out what was going on, when the car was off. It suddenly dawned on me that the shrieking wasn't Hanzo-san at all. It was the massive chorus of summer bugs happily living in the grasses on either side of the road and in the median. Hanzo-san, as I noticed sheepishly while in a concrete parking lot, was purring like an especially happy kitten.
Bugs: 1. Andee: 0. Gods. I generally like the sounds they make in August, but if it's going to make me flip out about my car? Fuck em.
Summer can't get over fast enough.
Back to pulling miracles from my ass, contemplating Stockholm Syndrome, and trying not to freak the hell out. I need a lot of fucking clapping today guys, this is a bad one.
