1) Driving in Worcester sucks balls.
2) Driving to loud thumpy üntz üntz üntz üntz goth music is equally as fun as dancing to it. There really isn't much more awesome than tearing down a road screaming "GIB MIR DEIN DESTILLAT!! GIB MIR MEIN ALLTAGSTOD!! GIB MIR MEIN GNADENBROT!! UR EWIGKEIT!!" (Warning: May also cause speeding.)
3) Braking before sharp corners is generally a good idea.
3a) Rt. 9 is twisty.
4) It's also a good idea to at least turn down the ringer of your phone if you're going to be sitting in a waiting room full of old people while waiting for (yet another) blood draw. You get less dirty looks when people text message you about lesbian bed death.
5) The Halloween Outlet is equally as awesome IRL as it is on TV. I didn't buy anything ultimately - there were too many choices! But just getting to go was pretty awesome. And mark my words, if I ever by some miracle have my own place with some sort of front yard, you bet I will be getting a ten foot long inflatable AND animated black cat with glowing red eyes. Just so you know. Oh, and gravestones, for the duh.
6)
veestah kinda sounds a bit like an affectionate skeksis when she's tired. I kinda keep looking at her funny expecting her to start going "Peace! Gelfling! Peace! Please!"
7) Dealing with your past sucks, but it is sometimes necessary. The trick is handling it with maturity, and waiting until you get "home" or at least somewhere alone to take out your aggression, preferably in a constructive way. See #2. Especially the bit in caps.
8) I actually really fucking love driving. I'm not good at it yet by any means (too many near misses today due to wandering attention) *sigh* but I know that I'm way better at it than I was two months ago. I think once I get something that is "mine" that I can break in and get really used to, it'll be awesome. But yeah, after I got out of the scary bits of Worcester today... I don't know, part of me just wanted to hop on 202 or 91 or 141 and just go until I needed to fill up, just so I could see where I ended up... and also to keep blaring the music.
In other news, my hair is a uniform color again. I need to not leave the yarn in so long next time, as several bits of yarn had actually managed to meld with my dreads, which made removing it pretty tricky... and as a result I'm actually missing a couple of dreads on the right side. But my head's lighter and cooler for a while, and like I've been telling everyone, I do plan to put it back in after the moving and the heat are done. Meantime it's fun reacquainting myself with what my hair feels like without two pounds of acrylic mixed up in it.
Heading back to NYC for a few days sometime tomorrow. Plan on returning to the valley either Saturday night or Sunday for moving and car shopping. I am rather proud of my brandy new AAA membership today - somewhere the blue ghost of Mom is nodding in approval, which is a nice constrast to the almost guaranteed horror at my behavior behind the wheel the rest of the time.
Tonight - some online chores and work... and looking into Comcast. Crud, I need to buy a router. Le Pout.
