why is it that the more I try to avoid being branded with "having the crazy" or some shit, the more the label seems to stick? Grrr. Oh well, better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not, I suppose.
Oddly enough no. I've gotten universal agreement that it's precisely what I should do. The contention seems to be on how, when, why and on whose terms. God forbid I have my own opinions on any of these that may or may not line up perfectly with what other people think, but I can't blame them for that; the figuring out that I have a say in that and that it should actually matter is a very recent development.
Which should pretty well demonstrate that they've some sort of crazy as well.
The stage where children realise that people outside themselves are separate people whose feelings and hurt and opinions are separate from their own is about four or five, if I recall.
People who KNOW they mistreated you need to label you as Teh Crazy to feel justified in their ass-aholism. I've had it happen rather often, and interestingly most have come back and apologized out of the blue years later.
