Well. So where was I, since I finally have a moment to breathe...
Friday: Lots of running around trying to get errands run before returning the car. Course it all became a moot point because I returned the car and they were all like "if you keep it until Tuesday we'll cut your rate in haaaaaaaaaaaalf *dangle dangle tempt tempt*" So I kept it. :) Friday night Cara managed to make everyone stir fry with some help from her boy (which was pretty amazing considering she'd had a pretty bad seizure that evening) and then there was hooking up of the Wii and much Mario Karting. I'd actually forgotten how much fun that game was. Thinking of actually playing it and maybe unlocking more of the race tracks. It's even more fun with four people, since
verbena76 and
aersi came over with two more wii remotes. hehehehe.
Saturday: After waiting for the cable guy to show up, I spent it with
cell23 and the kids at first the Amherst farmers market, the Common (playing Dinosaurs works much better when you have space to really run around and do the T-Rex stomp, not to mention it was a FANTASTIC day for blowing bubbles), Bubs (never been before - dear gods, their pulled pork is phenomenal) and finally the 3 County Fair, which they seem to have vastly improved in terms of both layout and rides since the last time I went. Fried dough was consumed (and concurrently people's noses were painted with powdered sugar) and a good chunk of my time was spent on the ground holding Little Mr. Lovebug and waving at his daddy and sister while they went on things. I didn't mind sitting most of it out, but I felt rather sorry for him at the end, since he was too little to really go on anything except the kiddie train at the very end of the day and was clearly frustrated by that. Oh well, he'll be bigger next year.
Also mad tag sales. Still no bookshelves. Boo. Hoping something will turn up by the magic of freecycle.
Sunday: spent some time with the kids and
cell23's parents before driving them back east; after that went home and spanked the household internet into working. Move in officially complete, ha ha. I also have now met the infamous Berube, he is as fearsome and utterly wrong as rumored. I was not disappointed.
Yesterday: I think I pretty much covered.
Today: finally returned the car (sob!) got a few errands done in 'Hamp, then came back home... only to have to head right back out because I had left my phone on the B43. (They found it rather right away because people were text messaging me and I kept trying to call myself - the driver shut it off to preserve his sanity, lol.) Came home to find 116 roped off in front of Squillage - from what I could gather from asking people two people were hit by a pickup truck and one was dragged under the truck almost to the bus stop on the Sevs side of the road. D: D: D: um... can y'all who live up here drop me a note somewhere (twitter, facebook, here, call me) and let me know you're alive, kthx?
Anyway. Home for a bit. Going to eat something, attempt to get work done and try to get some other things done as well.
