I was laughing at the fact that RG was known for *never* missing an opportunity to mention 9/11 in his speeches and interviews...until now, when it suddenly would become a hindrance to making a (wrong) point.
Dems and Reps are just politicians, but the constant one-eye-squint twisting of facts by the latter, done in the manner of a preacher's kid who lights people's shoes on fire just to watch them jump, is really disgusting.
I can actually see why he might not have done so without being as epically hypocritical--the AP article I saw indicated that apparently the Repub strategy now is to insist that 9/11 happened on Clinton's watch and Bush just had to clean up. (Mary Matalin said something to that effect a few weeks ago on Meet the Press).
Which, you know, doesn't make much sense, as that would imply that what happened Christmas happened on Bush's watch, but since when...yeah.
