Good:
- Ran a shitton of errands today, got some chores done, untangled a little bit of my money fu.

- Walked all the way from The House to the Junction and back. (The Junction, for those unfamiliar with Brooklyn's geography, is the big X where Nostrand Ave crosses Flatbush Ave, very close to Brooklyn College. It is now also home to one of those NYC equivelants to big box strip malls - basically instead of having a street lined with big box stores and restaurants, NY simply stacks them one on top of another in abandoned department stores, old malls or just big spare plots of land. I happened to need something at Target today.) So... walked a total of 4.15 miles this morning between 11 and 1. My legs still feel like someone punched them.

- Had a supreme girly moment and bought this Dove face scrub, since I'm having one of those once every five years or so bad skin months. (yeah I know I know, I really have no right to complain, I know, shut up). It is rather fantastic. Only problem is my face is now SHINEH. Seriously, you can apply lipstick by looking at my forehead. If this keeps up, I may have to start actually using that MAC powder I've got somewhere.

- Dressed up, and treated myself to a night in the city, and that aforementioned trip to the Ziegfeld. Reminded myself exactly why and how much I love that theater. Not to mention HOLY BALLS, the wonder and beauty of digital projection so sharp and vibrant you could cut glass on it.
(Notes on the trailers: So going to be seeing Sherlock Holmes when it comes out. So much sexy. Also, Where the Wild Things Are... just wow. I pray both live up to their trailers. That and I may actually have to go and suffer through the new GI Joe movie simply because Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is in it, and he is the yum. And thank the heavens it's okay to destroy New York in movies again... 2012 looks fantastic in that dumb splodey effects movie sort of way.)

- Had a fantastic warm summer night walk down 6th and 7th Avenue after the movie. I'd forgotten how much I love prowling the streets of Manhattan after dark. Desperately needed to wander after the movie.... One of the most comforting things to me is to be able to sit or lie with my head on someone's chest. Heartbeats calm me like nothing else, with the possible exception of car rides, which put me out in 20 minutes or less usually. Standing in the middle of Times Square with my eyes closed, soaking up the sound, neon, and life around me, is sort of like me resting on the heart of the whole city. The effect is pretty similar, except instead of soaking up the sound of one person's life ticking under my ear, I'm soaking up, oh, 8 million people's. It does tend to leave you a wee bit punch drunk afterward.

ETA: Flipping on Clerks 2 and catching it precisely at the beginning of the ABC sequence, then watching the rest of it while IMing [livejournal.com profile] cell23

Bad:
- Woke up this morning to find out that several things were happening today that, were circumstances different, I would have been invited to... or at least known about. Felt mopey and Maleficentish for about 20 minutes, then got over it.

- Harry Potter left me a bawling mess, as expected, and alas, only 50% of that was because of the movie.

- Really should have brought the Hatemonger with me tonight. The celly don't really cut it.

- Found out that a friend of mine from high school lost her baby sister last night to a drunk driver. I'm actually wicked sad about it - I remember when she was born, and now she's gone. *sigh* You know, I'm okay with a lot of things people do to mess with their brain chemistry, but one of the few things that pisses me off royally are people that drive whilst they're fucked up. Driving is risky enough sober. Not okay. Not okay at all.

- My favorite pants have a rather large hole in the crotch.

- While I love roaming the city after dark, I would really prefer not to do it alone.

WTF:
- The Obama Condoms guy. *facepalm* you see the most fucked up/silliest shit in Times Square.

- Remember how I said I was keeping all my usernames consistant in the hopes that one person in particular would kind of follow the breadcrumbs and find me one day? Yeah, guess who friends me on facebook a month after I give up and change IDs? Universe, bb, please stop fucking with me, kthx.

- still have the bizarre antics of Yogi Okie Dokey stuck in my head. Still hate [livejournal.com profile] sixswordsamurai for it.

Well... it was a day, and I don't feel like sleeping yet. Feel like getting some coffee, popping in the next disk of OZ and whittling away some more at Massive To-Do List.

"The worst stab wound is the one to the heart. Sure, most people survive it, but the heart is never quite the same. There's always a scar, which I guess, is meant to remind you that even for a little while, someone made your heart beat faster. And that's a scar you can live with, proudly. All the days of your life. "

...yep.
