I have such a mild headache today that I hesitate to say I'm hung over, even though I definitely drank more than I intended last night. Moral of story ALWAYS ALWAYS listen to my internal bartender and STOP when it says to. I went one drink over and regretted it. Alternate moral is that there's no sense in suffering on principle, do what you need to do to feel better, even if it's kinda gross. Strange how that moral is easy to follow when the discomfort is physical and immediate as opposed to other kinds of uncomfortable distress, eh?
Aside from that little hitch, New Years Eve was pretty great. Spend it with the gang at the new Squire Mancave (that is to say the new apartment of Tom, Mike, Dan and Kyle) played Kings, ate too much buffalo chicken dip and won converts to the cult of Licor 43, so I would say it was something of a success. Also hot booze on a cold foggy night apparently does go over well. I have a feeling the gallon+ thermal carafe I ended up getting last night is going to enjoy a long life of providing all sorts of hot drinks on game nights, not just toddy.
I've created a monster with this cat and the iPad. She will now sit in front of me if I'm using it and either stare or chirp until I put on the fish or the mice for her and put it down so she can chase them. Or she'll just sprawl decadently across the bed with her face on the screen just watching them crawl around. I shake my head. I did try to get a picture but the Hatemonger's battery is dead. Oh well, next time.
Speaking of which and of camera enabled devices, I think I'm gonna try to do 365 again this year. I took last year off, but I think I'm at least gonna make some effort towards it this year, especially since I will soon be in possession of several camera enabled devices, and not just the Hatemonger, which makes things a little difficult. We'll see how I do. It would help if the cat was not laying all over the OTHER camera enabled device in my possession, but oh well.
Making black eyed peas tonight for dinner, which is hilarious because I hate them, but I could use every single shred of new years good luck I can muster. Also about to depart into the unseasonable warmth to get a few things to work on sqwrrl... after that I feel like I should gird my loins and Cindernegro it up in my house, as it's a disaster pit and gamers will be descending for their scheduled weekly revelry and dragon killing tomorrow.
That's 2012 so far.
