  • Вс, 08:19: All this coverage is underscoring my irrational cruise ship phobia.
  • Вс, 10:55: You screwing up during a performance=embarrassing. You choir director screwing up during a performance=surprisingly hilarious. #bells
  • Вс, 10:58: And with that the next 36hrs are free to dispense with as i see fit. Alas i need to spend a good chunk of that playing Cindernegress.
  • Вс, 11:32: Hmm 2 playoff games and the golden globes, you say? #reallydontwannacleanmyhouse
anagramofbrat: (whee!!)
System operating under normal parameters for the most part, with an uptick in stress (work/money related) and digestive ick (probably related both to the stress and to the fact that I'm consciously trying to stuff more nutrients into it - more on later, probably in a different entry).

Yesterday was [livejournal.com profile] deliriumdeva's wedding shower, which I actually found myself enjoying quite a bit. That may or may not have had something to do with the almost never-ending spread of New Orleans themed food that apparently [livejournal.com profile] deliriumdeva's sister spent all week making, but it was also a good time hanging out with a fair percentage of my lady-friends, which doesn't happen all that often. The conversation of ridiculous suggestions of what to do with my own wedding if indeed there is no budget ceiling was fun too and did somewhat take the edge off the panic I undergo when thinking about it. I think we ended up with a Bollywood Star Wars theme for the wedding which involved [livejournal.com profile] cell23 making an entrance on an elephant. (I have this strange urge to watched Erithran again suddenly...) Kidding and ridiculousness aside, I need to imbibe the res tof the rum punch from yesterday and do something really brave, which is call the sisters and Dad, ask for a ceiling on the budget, confirm a workable date, and get the ball rolling on this Wedding Shit, cause... yeah.

Anyway that was fun, and then the plan had been to head down to burlesque afterward but we got back late, my guts were acting up, and everyone I was supposed to meet there had things come up, so I thought about it for a minute and decided I could skip my monthly dose of tittays once. So I ended up curled up on the living room couch under the Red Blanket of Cat Love and Affection (Cat sold seperately.) in my comfy sweats, watching the Pats spank the Broncos like they'd been caught eating all the pies for the Ladies Auxiliary Society meeting, and enjoying having a warm purring furball in my lap. I'm both disturbed by my sudden interest in football beyond the Super Bowl itself; it suddenly got way more interesting in the past couple months. Like right now I've been all "I have a buttload of housecleaning to do... but there are two playoff games and the Golden Globes later on TV..." What. Is. Wrong. With. Me.

This morning I had to get up early for a bell performance (our first piece was great, the second our choir director got lost, got the giggles and kinda threw up her hands, but it sounded okay) I have tomorrow off, unexpectedly. Which is good. Will spend the time catching up on Job #1, since lo! I have a respectable amount of work on my plate for it suddenly (money is lovely) and finishing whatever cleany stuff I haven't done yet.

Will post this weeks 365 later. I've been reasonably not-flakey about picture taking so far, just bad about posting them.

I need a new "click!" icon I think. Maybe when I get a better mirror.

7 large pictures under here. )

Things I learned this week:

  • I hate the iPad's camera. It's good for pictures of the cat being a doof, and skype and other sorts of video, not much good for anything else. Grainy as hell and no options for adjusting it unless you download a couple apps that require jailbreaking the thing. Too much like work.

  • Still shit at remembering to white balance when I have the camera on manual settings. Also haven't really gotten the hang of depth of field. Need to work on that, because it's a pain in the ass to do in post.

  • It's pretty easy to get lazy with this during the week seeing as I work on a college campus that if it were a person would be the biggest camera whore imaginable. Every corner of that campus and even just the building I work in positively screams TAKE A PICTURE OF ME ME ME!!! every second. Even the ugly buildings photograph well.

  • Still miss having a pocket camera for this project, regardless of oogy camera quality. Carrying around the hatemonger on top of my other portable tech gets heavy.
anagramofbrat: (read a book)
Procrastinating from housecleaning = lots of posting on the internet, apparently.

So as most of you know, I'm doing the goodreads challenge again this year (75 books this time!) and I need suggestions. Not picky about genre, target age group or fiction/non-fiction (hint - I quite enjoy biographies), if you think I might like/enjoy/be interested in $book, throw down a recommendation and I will read it. Or at least try. I rarely put down a book in the middle even if I dislike it, but it has happened a time or two. :)

and GO.
