Ever wondered what catastrophic breadmaker fail looked like? Look no further.

Far as I can tell what happened is that the pan wasn't pushed in all the way and thus no mixing or kneading happened. Instead I got what resembled bread custard with a lot of untouched flour in. This would have been horrific and tragic were I not able to grab more butter from Sev's. As it was I rolled my eyes, took pictures, scraped out the pan and started over. Take two seems to be going along fine as of an hour ago, and I still have enough time and ingredients for a second loaf after that.
In other news I am displeased by these thunderstorms (and tornadoes apparently!) passing immediately north and south of Sunderland but missing us entirely. We're only getting sprinkles of rain even. Oh cruel weather gods, why hath you forsaken the Pioneer Valley?

Date: 2010-06-07 12:27 am (UTC)From:I wouldn't be too upset about the tornadoes passing you guys by. Back in the summer of 2007, the tornado sirens went off and then we got a microburst with strong winds. Not quite a tornado, but pretty damn close. It was frightening! When the wind picked up and the power went off, I screamed...it was that scary.
Later, I drove around the neighborhood and saw a lot of fallen trees on houses. I'm glad that that didn't happen to us!
