Day 03. A song that makes you happy

Girl Talk, "What it's all about." Especially 3:34 until the end of the track. The layering of Rihanna, Jackson 5 and finally sped up Queen just kinda make my heart explode with squee and joy. Though to be fair, even though I've listened to the album enough times to have a pretty good idea of where the track breaks are, I pretty much consider Feed The Animals to be one long continuous track and listening to the whole thing beginning to end makes me happy.

In other news, I finished A Storm of Swords yesterday. I can already tell this is going to be a series that I'll want to reread in a couple years just for the little things missed and to savor the characters and the story but right now I'm zipping through it and admittedly after A Game of Thrones, skimming thorough a lot of it. I still disagree that George R. R. Martin is the second coming of Tolkien (god, I'd hope not, I detested The Lord of the Rings and those weren't nearly as long as these) and it still kinda irks me that none of these books are readable on their own, seeing as they pick up the story almost exactly where the last one left off and seem to only end after GRRM decided they were long enough. But I guess for now I'm still interested in several characters fates enough to keep reading.

Today I'll be Takin' Care of Business. I've got a bunch of shit on my to-do list that I've been quite frankly hiding from/dreading that needs to be done today. With luck, hopefully some restored internet, grim determination and Mad Men episodes, it will be done.

Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

I thought you'd given up on the Martin series?

Oh, and the characters you're interested in? They'll all be dead (or worse) soon.

Lol, trust me I was given that warning before I started. So far all of the one's I like/give a shit about have managed to survive one way or another to the end of book 3.

I had. I'd also given up on Mad Men. And then I got super bored and picked both of them up again.

Tyrion cannot be killed because he is made of three and a half feet of pure awesome.

Sadly I find the characters I want dead the most (Sansa, mainly) somehow remain alive through it all.

The Red Wedding though, damn. That was pretty harsh.

heh heh, yeah I'm totally fangirling over Tyrion and have since book 1. Sansa is all about the "look pretty and whine," and I can't stand people like that in real life so Im rather annoyed she didn't in fact get kicked out the moon door.

Yeah, Red wedding, wow. Okay. It seems that much like having sex in a horror movie guarantees you a grisly end, getting married doesn't bode well for anyone's survival, least of all the couple in question.

I also really dislike Arya, whom I find to be the biggest Mary Sue since I wrote myself into Star Trek fanfic, but I seem to be in the minority there.

she was kinda awesome in book one, then got super boring afterward.

hey, if your options were "be like your sister" or "be a NINJA" you know which one you'd pick too.

"And then Ensign Tatro ate too many hot dogs and groused about the lousy cell reception in sick bay. His thinly veiled contempt and distrust of Bones ran as deep as a thing that is also deep."

"Spock's hands caressed his shoulders from behind, with astonishing gentleness for all their Vulcan strength. 'You're a remarkable man, for a human," he said. 'Perhaps you can assist me with the matter of these aesthetically displeasing wings...'"

Arya is so far my favorite character in the series, though I readily admit that the loli assassin is an archtype designed to hit the Konstantin Demographic's weak points for massive damage.
