While I understand why they're doing it, I'm kinda sad D&D's making the transition to tokens rather than figures. Less opportunity for silly game board tableaux.
Believe me, I feel ya on this. But if it's a choice between plunking down hundreds of dollars and quite a bit of storage space on minis, or using a couple of bead boxes worth of tokens... I can't really afford to choose the minis.
Psion. Controller all the way. Admittedly not what I would've handed someone who's not played 4E before, but she's risen to the challenge of one of the more complex classes in the game.
