Jun. 7th, 2010 08:16 amDay 03. A song that makes you happy
Girl Talk, "What it's all about." Especially 3:34 until the end of the track. The layering of Rihanna, Jackson 5 and finally sped up Queen just kinda make my heart explode with squee and joy. Though to be fair, even though I've listened to the album enough times to have a pretty good idea of where the track breaks are, I pretty much consider Feed The Animals to be one long continuous track and listening to the whole thing beginning to end makes me happy.
In other news, I finished A Storm of Swords yesterday. I can already tell this is going to be a series that I'll want to reread in a couple years just for the little things missed and to savor the characters and the story but right now I'm zipping through it and admittedly after A Game of Thrones, skimming thorough a lot of it. I still disagree that George R. R. Martin is the second coming of Tolkien (god, I'd hope not, I detested The Lord of the Rings and those weren't nearly as long as these) and it still kinda irks me that none of these books are readable on their own, seeing as they pick up the story almost exactly where the last one left off and seem to only end after GRRM decided they were long enough. But I guess for now I'm still interested in several characters fates enough to keep reading.
Today I'll be Takin' Care of Business. I've got a bunch of shit on my to-do list that I've been quite frankly hiding from/dreading that needs to be done today. With luck, hopefully some restored internet, grim determination and Mad Men episodes, it will be done.
