So in other "I want to go to there" news:



Yeah, lets talk about how this building is TWICE AS TALL AS THE EMPIRE STATE. And Dubai seems like a really neat city provided you don't bring any prescription drugs with you or kiss anyone publicly.

Pretty much, if it involves very tall/pretty things or trains I'm so there.

So today after waking up at an ungodly hour (yes, 7am is ungodly on a weekend), crawling back into bed, sleeping for three more hours and then having trouble getting up after that (huzzah mood crash), aersi called because we'd agreed to hike up Cliffside today.

(By the way I'm pretty sure that hill isn't actually called Cliffside. But I'm too lazy to actually go look up what it's called.)

I stepped outside, went "guh" went back in and told the roomie that she needed to get out today, it was gorgeous. Stepped outside again and managed to get halfway across the bit of lawn separating Lantern and Squire, turned around, went back in, and chucked my hoodie. It was way too warm for that shit. Finally made it over to aersi's then we went and collected stormslegacy and another friend of theirs and we hiked up the hill.

I forget how much I like wandering around in woody sorts of places. It's really nice to know this is here, especially the streamy waterfall bits. And it was super fun sitting on top of the hill looking out over the neighborhood and all the way around the Valley it seemed like. Was also super fun because stormslegacy brought binoculars, so I had the roomie come outside and wave at us. Hee. I often forget how much I like sitting atop really tall things.

Anyway. Long story short its gorgeous. So much so that I came home, shut my door, ripped the plastic down off my window, and shoved it all the way open for the first time since November. It is so awesome to get some fresh air up in this bitch, you have no idea.

Back from the big bad city. It was an oddly low key and relaxing weekend.

So home, chilling out, working on my picasa albums, thinking about money and TEH FYOOCHURRR and being sleepy. (And cold, grr, stupid winter.) Probably gonna crash soon and head to work early tomorrow, since I still have a holy god crapton to do there in the morning. Hopefully I will not have the recurring nightmare I've been having the past four nights of violently rearending other cars on the highway. >_<

Okay I wanna go to Chicago now. I wanna visit this.

I don't have a problem with heights exactly, I kinda love the whole being the Almighty Tallest thing, hence the massive skyscraper obsession. But there is that five second moment of fleeting fancy where I breifly entertain the idea of diving off them and making absolutely sure that humans can't fly, so I tend to stay away from edges of things. (my id is kinda stupid sometimes.) But I think I can deal with a glass box suspended 103 stories up.

Now I kinda want there to be one pretty clear day before I go back to MA... sudden desire to take pictures from, as Z100 used to put it, "the top top TOP TOP of the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING."
